Neurodivergent-affirming therapy
While our counsellors work in neurodivergent-affirming ways, counselling does not need to focus solely on neurodivergence.
Clients may come to therapy for many different reasons, including:
- trauma
- anxiety
- depression
- relationships
- identity
- burnout
- grief
- self-esteem
- life transitions
- overwhelm
Our approach recognises that neurodivergence can shape how people experience and move through the world, while also understanding that therapy is about the whole person — not just a diagnosis or neurotype.
Non-time limited support
We recognise that meaningful therapeutic work does not always fit neatly into fixed timelines.
Counselling through Common Thread is not automatically limited to a set number of sessions. Clients and counsellors are able to work together at a pace that feels appropriate and sustainable.
Online counselling
All sessions currently take place online via secure video platform.
Online therapy can offer greater flexibility and accessibility for many neurodivergent people, including reduced travel demands, familiar environments, and more control over sensory comfort.
Our counsellors
All counsellors working through Common Thread are:
- qualified practitioners
- members of a recognised professional body
- insured and supervised
- working within their own ethical framework
Counsellors work independently and remain fully clinically responsible for their therapeutic work.
